Henderson rounds off great week - January 31, 2001
The star of Ireland's u17 team against France last week, Wayne Henderson was rewarded for his form when Aston Villa manager John Gregory gave him his first start for the reserve team last night.
Wayne played the first half of Villa's friendly against Welsh outfit Newtown and managed to keep a clean sheet despite the desperate condition of the pitch.
The young Irishman was replaced at half time by Boaz Myhill (Villa's Youth goalkeeper) but the new man between the sticks could not match Wayne's half as he conceded the only goal of the game.
