Athlone back on top - February 14,

Waterford United 0 Athlone Town 0
Athlone squeezed back to the top of the Eircom League division on after a disappointing draw against Waterford United at the RSC last night.
Town, knocked off the top by Dundalk at the weekend for the first time this season, set their stall out for a draw - but while Waterford had the better of things, goal chances were as rare as hens' teeth.
Athlone 'keeper Gary Connaughton was called on to make one excellent save from Joe Watson, after the youngster was picked out by Kevin O'Brien's 76th-minute cross.
Other than that, Aaron Moroney tried a couple of long-range pots but couldn't keep them down.
The nearest Athlone came to scoring was on the half hour, when Shane Harte's drive was parried by Anthony Fennelly but John Frost beat Alan McNevin to the rebound.
