Ireland to host Women's u18 Euro Championship qualifiers - September 22, 2000 Ireland will host the upcoming u18 Euro Championship qualifying mini-tournament which includes England, Wales and Turkey. It will be Sue Ronan's first time in charge of the u18 team after her appointment last month. She will be assisted by Darren Murray, the FAI's Regional Development officer for Tipperary. The mini-tournament kicks off on November 18 with Wales taking on Turkey. That game is followed by Ireland against England in a tough debut for the Irish girls. The teams then get a day's rest before they all play on October 20 with Ireland facing the Welsh and England meeting Turkey. The final round of games takes place on October 22 with the Irish taking on Turkey and England facing Wales. Ireland will be hoping to qualify from the group and they will have a good chance with home advantage. At the moment no venues are set but St. Patrick's Athletic's Richmond Park, Shelbourne's Tolka Park, Home Farm's Whitehall pitch, Morton Stadium and Frank Cooke Park have all been short-listed. |
