Butler names u15 squad for Dutch double-header - November 1, 2000

Ireland u15 boss Vinny Butler has named a 24-strong squad for double-header friendlies against Holland on November 6 at Dalymount and two days later at the AUL Complex in Clonshaugh.

Butler has used this tactic of two games against the same opposition a number of times before and while the results have not always been great it seems to work as a weeding-out process for more important games later in the year.

There is no surprise that the squad is heavily laden with players from Dublin clubs, especially Belvedere, who seem to throw up so many international players.

But what is unusual for an u15 squad is that five of the players play abroad, four with English clubs and one in Holland.

The growing power of the Wexford and Mayo leagues is illustrated by a player from each being named in the squad.
