Shels' late, late show - November 11, 2000

Shelbourne 1 Longford Town 1

Champions Shelbourne just about hung onto top spot on the Eircom Premier League - but it took them until six minutes from the end against brave Longford.

Longford grabbed the lead via Keith O'Connor in the 66th minute and held onto it tenaciously.

And when Stephen Geoghegan had his penalty saved by Stephen O'Brien in the 75th minute, it looked as if it just wasn't going to be Shels' night.

But with time running out, the resilient Champions conjured up an equaliser. Crawford crossed from the left, Richie Baker returned it across goal and substitute Davey Byrne was on hand to slot it home.
