Shels look to restore cushion - December 15, 2000

Shelbourne v UCD 19:45

Shelbourne had their six-point lead at the top of the Eircom League cut to three in midweek when Bohemians beat Kilkenny - but they can restore their advantage tonight by beating UCD at Tolka Park.

The Students are flirting dangerously with relegation and, on the form book, Shelbourne can look forward to a comfortable night.

UCD haven't been helped by long-term injuries to Brian Mooney, John Martin and Aidan Lynch and now Ciaran Martyn is the latest casualty, with 'keeper Barry Ryan (back injury) a worry.

Shelbourne's only real injury worry is Avery John (knee) but even if the centre back fails to come through, Dermot Keely still has the option of fielding an unchanged team for the third successive game.
