Shels land huge sponsorship deal - November 7, 2000

League Champions Shelbourne are set to announce a new sponsorship deal which is expected to be worth at least £500,000 to the Dublin club but they are keeping under wraps the company involved.

The money will be paid over a ten year period and in return Tolka Park will change it's name to carry the name of the company.

Most of the money will be paid in the early period of the deal and it could start rolling within days.

Shelbourne chairman Gary Browne said: "We are thrilled that we have reached a deal with this company whose name will now be used on the stadium for the next ten years.

"It brings Irish football and Shelbourne football club further along the road in terms of developing the game in this country. It's a great stride for the club and the Eircom League."
