Holland and Foley set to start - November 13, 2000 Matt Holland, who scored Ipswich's crucial 80th-minute opener in their 2-0 win over Charlton at the weekend, is set to start alongside FAI-Eircom Player fo the Year Mark Kinsella in Wednesday's friendly against Finland. The absence of Roy Keane makes Holland a shoe-in for the midfield engine-room - and guarantees a run-out at some stage of the match for out-of-favour Blackburn anchorman Lee Carlsey. With Sunderland's Niall Quinn and Derby's Rory Delap also injured, Dominic Foley also looks certain to start against the Finns, alongside Robbie Keane. And with Mick McCarthy's resources stretched in the striking department, there could even be a first cap for Sunderland youngster Michael Reddy. U21 international Reddy was invited to train with the senior squad just to give him big-time experience - but with both Quinn and Delap out, the Kilkennyman will almost certainly be called into the squad. And depending on how things are going on the field, Reddy could be rewarded with a run-out at some stage. Robbie Keane, meanwhile, will be looking for a confidence booster in the game. He started for Inter yesterday, but was substituted 20 minutes from time as the Milan giants suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Lecce. |
