McCarthy delays team selection - October 10, 2000

Republic of Ireland soccer manager Mick McCarthy has announced that he will not name his team to face Estonia tomorrow until shortly before kick-off.

McCarthy - widely expected to name an unchanged team for the third consecutive match - has delayed his selection because of minor injuries to some of the players.

Centre back Richie Dunne and goalscorer Mattie Holland watched from the sidelines yesterday as the Irish squad trained. Both are suffering from leg muscle twinges.

The Estonian squad arrived in Dublin yesterday and will hold a press conference today to announce their line-up.
