Sadlier hits hat trick - March 9, 2001
Millwall's Republic of Ireland u21 international striker bounced back to form with a bang last night, hitting a brilliant hat trick in a reserve game against Brentford.
The 22-year-old hit all three goals in a 3-0 win.
Sadlier, who has been off colour in recent months, is now certain to be preferred to Paul Moody for Saturday's Nationwide division two clash with resurgent Luton Town.
The Dubliner only returned from long-term injury last October and was in impressive form before Christmas, hitting five goals for Millwall's first team.
But he has started just three of twelve games for the first team since the turn of the year and the goals have dried up.
Last night though, Sadlier was described as "awesome" - and his hat trick will have gone a long way towards restoring his confidence and self-belief. Joe Kinnear's Luton have been forewarned!
In another reserve game, Preston's fomer Cork City midfielder Brian Barry-Murphy was also on target as North End thrashed Oldham 6-1.
