Fergie reveals The Boss Roy - December 15, 2000

Roy Keane will be manager of Manchester United one day - and that's the view of current Red Devils boss Alex Ferguson, the most successful manager in the history of the British game.

Ferguson was in Dublin yesterday - and the United sorcerer named Keane as his apprentice!

"Roy is studying for his UEFA coaching badges and will qualify for the set in the near future," Ferguson revealed. "With those qualifications, Roy can go on to be a great manager.

"I discuss things with Roy because I respect his views on what is going on in the game. He will make a great manager because he sees the game in simple, understandable terms.

"He is my leader on the pitch and mirrors the way I believe the game should be played."

However, Ferguson did rather ruin the effect by going on to compare Keane with Willie Miller and Bryan Robson.

No disrespect to Alex's former skippers as players - but let's hope Roy makes a better boss!
