Keegan foils Rovers - December 4, 2000

Shamrock Rovers 1 Bray Wanderers 1

Paul Keegan fired home an 89th-minute equaliser to leave Hoops fans gasping at the most impudent smash-and-grab raid ever.

Keegan collected the ball from Eddie Gormley on the edge of the box, turned sweetly and smashed the ball into the top corner to rob Rovers of two points they should have tied up long before.

Tony Cousins fired the Hoops ahead on the stroke of half time, getting on the end of Marc Kenny's sweetly flighted free kick.

Between that and Keegan's equaliser, Bray 'keeper Eddie Van Boxtel was called on to make at least three top-class saves, as Rovers struggled to make their dominance count on the scoreboard.

No wonder Bray have gone seven games undefeated!
