Robbie: arrivederci, Milano, I'm not going back! - February 19, 2001

Republic of Ireland star Robbie Keane has told Inter Milan: I'm not going back to the San Siro!

Keane has scored a spate of Premiership goals since arriving on loan at Elland Road and picked up the Carling Player of the Month award for January.

That alerted Inter, who sounded out Leeds on the possibility of getting the young Dubliner back - especially as rival striker Alvaro Recoba went home to Uruguay in disgrace after being found to have a forged passport.

But Keane says he is going nowhere.

"I've heard the rumours, but I am not going anywhere," Robbie insisted. "I have agreed a five-year contract with Leeds and hopefully I am staying put for at least that long.

"Nine Premiership clubs were interested when it became clear Inter wanted to let me go, but I saw Leeds as a young team with a big future and I wanted to be part of that."
