Robbie turns it on for Leeds - January 15, 2001
Robbie Keane was back to his pin-sharp best at the weekend as he scored twice for Leeds in a matter of minutes after coming on as a sub at Manchester City.
Leeds were leading 2-0 at the time but Keane, who was doubtful for the game because of injury, put the final nails in the City coffin with two goals from the same position on the field.
Robbie's first came when he was fed in on the right-hand side of the box. He took the ball in his stride and slipped it into the corner of the net.
He second wasn't pretty but it did show all his instincts are as sharp as ever. He went to shoot from right in front of goal but somehow missed the ball and ended up on his rear. This didn't stop him and he stuck out a foot to knock the ball over the line.
Elsewhere, Ryan Casey continued his progress at Swansea City.
The 21-year-old, who won an u18 European Championship medal along with Robbie Keane, has been a part of the Swansea squad for the last five games and he repaid his manager's faith in him by scoring the equalising goal against Peterborough at the weekend to earn the Welsh club an unlikely point as they trailed 2-0 at half time.
