Robbie returns to haunt Wolves - July 27, 2000 Robbie Keane's return to action after a lengthened summer break happened last night at his old club Wolves and within minutes the Irish striker found the net to earn Coventry a 1-0 win. Robbie sat on the bench at Molineux for 52 minutes and then was called into action by Gordon Strachan to an excellent reception from the fans who used to adore him. Straight away Keane was in the thick of the action and two minutes after being introduced he exchanged passes with Marcus Hall down the left and cut across the edge of the box before unleashing a fierce drive past Wolves goalkeeper Michael Oakes. Strachen said when Keane returned for pre-season that he looked sharper than ever and the young Dubliner proved that point in some style. |
