Robbie linked with Inter again - July 24, 2000 Italian giants Inter Milan are once more being linked with an £11m move for Irish international striker Robbie Keane. It has been reported in Italy that Inter president Massimo Moratti has ordered an £11m bid for the young striker but he accepts he is unlikely to prise him away from Coventry City. When Coventry signed Keane last year they paid a staggering £6m for his precocious talent. The Irishman has settled well at Highfield Road and is expected to be their star player this year. Inter were first linked with a move for Robbie in January, claiming that they had first-refusal on the player, but Coventry strongly denied this. With Ronaldo, Vieri and new signing Hakan Suker at the San Siro it is hard to see what would entice Robbie to join Inter. As a player so young he would have to play fourth fiddle to three world-class strikers and might never get a game. |
