Coventry City have taken the unprecedented step of offering 50% refunds to all the fans who bought a Robbie Keane replica shirt for the new season. Amazing what £13m can do.

Over 1,000 Coventry fans bought Keane named replica shirts and even though the receipt given with the shirt says that no exchanges or refunds will be available in a player should leave the club have decided to ignore their own rules.

The club's merchandise manager Paul Coles said more fans had bought Keane's shirt than any other, commenting: "Robbie was obviously a very popular player with the fans and like us, they thought he was with us for this season. We do state that we cannot offer a refund or exchange but we are making an exception in this case."

So if you are one of the people who bought a Keane shirt you have to return it to the Highfield Road club shop before the end of August and you will be given the same sized shirt complete with the name and number of any first team player and they can also keep their original top.
