Casey surgery successful - February 13, 2001
Irish winger Ryan Casey went under the knife at a top London hospital yesterday - and his surgeon pronounced the operation a success.
The 22-year-old Swansea City player is out for the rest of the season after damaging knee ligaments in an LDV Trophy match against Reading at the end of January.
Yesterday he was operated on by consultant Graham Holloway at the London Bridge hospital. Holloway revealed that the surgery had been successful and that no damage had been found beyond what was originally diagnosed.
"It's great that everything went OK for Ryan," said Swansea boss and former Chelsea star John Hollins.
"Now he has to concentrate on recuperating and getting plenty of rest. After that will follow the hard work to get himself back in top shape and knowing him as I do, I'm sure that will happen."
