Celtic kick-off exciting pre-season - June 15, 2000 Irish clubs have set up some gems of games for their pre-season warm-up. None is more impressive than Bray Wanderers game against Celtic on Sunday, July 9 at the Carlisle Grounds. This will be Martin O'Neill's first opportunity to see how good his players are at his new club. O'Neill plans on making Celtic great again - which means bringing in new players - so everybody involved with the club will be doing their best to impress the former Northern Ireland international in pre-season. It will also be a very good warm-up for newly promoted Bray. Bray bounced back in style after only one season in the First Division and now they hope they will have the experience to establish themselves as a potent force in Irish league football. They have been a very good cup team for the past number of years but their league form has always let them down. The will try to buck this trend during the coming season. Other notable visitors to these shores during the summer include West Ham, Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers. St. Patrick's Athletic will be the busiest of the Eircom League clubs. They take on Dundee United on Saturday, July 15 and they then face West Ham on Sunday, July 23. Pat's then move down to the lower English leagues for their challenge. They play Crewe on July 25 and two days later they face Cardiff City. Pat's finish their pre-season with a game against Irish-packed Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, August 5.
