Bray dig deep to hold Saints - January 20, 2001

St. Patrick's Athletic 1 Bray Wanderers 1

Bray Wanderers stretched their unbeaten run to a remarkable 13 games - but they had to fight hard to do it against a St. Pat's team who are enjoying their own streak of form.

The Seasiders had to survive an early deficit, a penalty and a sending off to pocket their hardest-earned point of the season.

Robbie Griffin put the Saints ahead on 20 minutes and it looked as if the jog was up when Wes Charles was dismissed seven minutes later after an off-the-ball incident with Ger McCarthy.

But Bray kept their heads up and Paul Keegan twice went close before Colm Tresson struck a magnificent equaliser from a 22-yard free kick on the hour.

But the drama wasn't over yet and it took a brilliant save by John Walsh from a Martin Russell penalty on 67 minutes to earn Bray their draw.
