Another Bray day? Wanderers take on Saints - January 19, 2001
St. Patrick's Athletic v Bray Wanderers, 19:45
Bray Wanderers have got to third spot in the Eircom Premier league the hard way - by beating the teams above them and around them.
Bohemians, Shelbourne and Longford Town have already bitten the dust and they can take another big step forward tonight by beating fourth-placed St. Pat's to go three points ahead of Bohemians in sole second position.
Unbeaten in eleven games, Bray won't fear the in-form Saints - though they may worry about the weather. Richmond Park was unplayable last week, but if it fails a pitch inspection today the game will be tentatively refixed for Sunday.
Mick Doohan, on his way back from 'flu, picked up a knock in training and is doubtful Manager Pat Devlin also has doubts over Eddie Gormley (calf), Dave Campbell (groin) and Maurice Farrell (hammy).
For Pat's, Ger McCarthy is still struggling with an ankle injury, but Paul Byrne has recovered from 'flu and is available to play. With Pakie Lynch out for another four weeks, boss Pat Dolan will again perm two centre backs from Stephen McGuinness, Darragh Maguire and Colm Foley.
