O'Shea set for Antwerp move - November 20, 2000
Irish u21 defender John O'Shea looks certain to be loaned out for a couple of months to Royal Antwerp by his club Manchester United.
United use Antwerp as a training ground for their up and coming players and it looks as if O'Shea will be the next to join.
John said: "I understand Antwerp have expressed an interest in signing me for a few months but nothing has been agreed.
"These days I am playing with the reserves at United but the chance to play first-team football in Belgium would be great.
"I'm delighted with my progress at United and I like to think the club are pleased with me too. But I understand I have plenty to learn."
In other Manchester United news Ireland have lost out on their bid to get Darren Fletcher to declare for the green. Fletcher, who is seen as the next David Beckham, has opted to play for Scotland, the birthplace of his father, rather than Ireland, the birthplace of his mother.
