O'Halloran linked with a move to Swansea - July 20, 2000 Irish u21 international Greg O'Halloran could well be plying his trade in England by the start of the new campaign. O'Halloran is being linked with a move to Swansea City, which would see him teaming up with fellow Irish u21 star Ryan Casey. Greg's contract with Cork City has expired and he is hoping to get a chance to move across the water to further his career. It is rumoured that a number of English clubs want to bring the midfielder across for trials but as yet nothing has happened. O'Halloran said: "I'm still ambitious to go across. Swansea have spoken to me but if nothing happens then hopefully I can stay with Cork. I've no interest in moving to another club in Ireland." O'Halloran played in Cork's friendly against Wolves last night and showed plenty of bite, even earning himself a yellow card. He will also line out against Swansea on Friday night and if he has a good game it could seal the deal. «back to eircom league stories |
