Bohemians get their man - January 16, 2001
Bohemians have signed Mark Rutherford from Newry Town - as predicted exclusively by kickin online last week
Gypsies manager Roddy Collins is hoping the former Shelbourne flyer can solve his problems out wide. Rutherford's arrival will release Trevor Molloy - who has been pressed into service as an emergency left winger - to play up front alongside Glen Crowe.
As part of the deal, centre back Graham Doyle - just returned from injury - has gone on trial at Newry, with a view to a part-exchange deal.
"I went to Dublin yesterday and Roddy and I have agreed something," said Newry boss Alfie Wylie.
"I'm very disappointed to be losing a quality player like Mark, but it's for reasons other than football. I need to generate some funds."
