McKeever comes through reserves test - December 15, 2000
Former Irish u21 international Mark McKeever, who has been dogged by injuries over the last three years, could be set to get his career back on track after successfully coming through a reserve game for Sheffield Wednesday.
McKeever, along with fellow Irishman David Billington, joined Wednesday from Peterborough in 1997 in a joint deal worth £500,000 but since then he has only started seven times for the Owls - though he did clock up over a dozen starts in a successful loan spell at Reading in 1998-9.
The 22-year-old player, who is equally happy on the left-hand side of midfield as he is up front, is hoping that this time he can stay injury free and push his way into the Wednesday first team.
