Kennedy set for Rovers return - March 8, 2001
Mark Kennedy is set to play the full game for Man City in tonight's reserve match against Blackburn Rovers as he sharpens up his fitness. It will be the Dubliner's first competitive start since being subbed off with an injury in the December 23 Premiership game against Sunderland.
The Republic of Ireland winger played for 45 minutes against Bury a week ago and is aiming to last the full game when he steps out at Morecambe's Christie Park tonight.
City have another reserve game at home to Sheffield Wednesday in a week's time, giving Kennedy another chance to stake a claim for a return at Bradford City in a crucial six-pointer in the Premiership on Saturday week.
The reserve side at Morecambe tonight could also feature recent midfield loan signing Dino Toppmoller, as well as Canadian trialist Joey Todaro, an 18-year-old striker.
