New setback for Sparky - February 15, 2001

Republic of Ireland international Mark Kennedy has revealed that he picked up his latest injury playing head tennis!

The Manchester City winger had targeted the FA Cup match against his former club Liverpool this weekend for his comeback after a knee injury.

Now he has added to his woes by collecting a sore Achilles tendon - and he is in a race against time to be ready for the Anfield trip.

Kennedy admitted: "It got frustrating watching everyone play head tennis in the gym while I was injured.

"So as soon as the physio said I could join in again, I jumped in and probably did too much.

"That left me with a sore Achilles and now I can't be certain I'll be fit for the Liverpool match."
