What a game! Limerick could have been three or four up inside the first half hour - and instead found themselves two down!
Oran Weldrick, Paul Harman and Graham Flaherty missed a string of gilt-edged opportunities for the home side while, at the other end, Declan McGregor was showing them how it should be done.
He scored with a sweetly struck half-volley after eight minutes and doubled his tally after receiving from Pat Kelly on 23 minutes.
After that Cobh shut up shop and, even though Limerick boss Tommy Lynch rang the changes in the second half, it made no difference.
