Rotherham and Burnley agree Lee deal - November 10, 2000 Former Aston Villa striker Alan Lee seems to be set to sign for Rotherham after the club agreed a deal with his current club, Burnley. Lee has been on loan at Millmoor for the last two months and despite only scoring one goal he has impressed manager Ronnie Moore enough for him to break Rotherham's transfer record to get the Irishman on a permanent basis. It is believed that a deal was struck between the two teams for £160,000 and now all that is left to sort is the player's personal details. Lee looked to have a bright future with Burnley until a hernia injury last year ruined any chance he had of establishing himself in the first team. The move to Rotherham and first-team football can only help Lee and he could force his way into the Irish reckoning in years to come. |
