First trophy up for grabs - November 28, 2000

The first trophy of the season moves a step closer tonight, as UCD, Limerick, St. Patrick's Athletic and Finn Harps battle it out for a place in the League Cup final.

Pat's take on Harps in Inchicore while Limerick, the last remaining first division side, travel to Belfield to take on UCD.

Of the four, Limerick are the only ones with a history in this competition: they won it in 1975-6 and 1992-3.

UCD knocked out Bohs in the previous round but will be without Kevin Grogan, Aidan Lynch and John Martin tonight. Limerick, who have already seen off the challenge of premier sides Shamrock Rovers and Galway United, will be without Albert Finnan, John Whyte, Paul Harman and Jason Purcell.

St. Pat's too have their worries, with Paul Osam and top scorer Liam Kelly definitely out, but Harps hope to travel with a full squad.
