Cats pick up rare point - January 22, 2001
Kilkenny City 0 Bohemians 0
Bohemians missed another chance to make up ground on leaders Shelbourne when they were held to a no-score draw at Buckley Park.
It was a result that did neither side any real favours. Joe McGrath's rebuilt Kilkenny side proved they will compete for the rest of the season but it has probably come too late to save the Cats from relegation.
Bohs' first chance fell to Trevor Molloy in the sixth minute and the Gypsies could have been 5-0 up at half time, with Mark Rutherford and Glen Crowe particularly guilty.
But it was a different story in the second half. Kilkenny dominated and Carlos Rocha missed the best chance of the game in the 57th minute, hitting the crossbar after being played in by Stephen Murphy.
With seven minutes to go, Gordon Johnston met Murphy's corner on the meat but his header screamed wide.
