Macca show Durkan the door - October 4, 2000 Macclesfield have sent former Irish u21 international Kieron Durkan on a month's loan to struggling York. Durkan has failed to hold down a starting place in the Macclesfield team this season and York manager Terry Dolan jumped at the chance to bring his experience to Bootham Crescent. If things work out for Durkan at York, he will be allowed to join them for as little as £20,000. Macclesfield manager Peter Davenport has been told by the club to cut the wage bill so his first move was to put Durkan on the transfer list. "We're top heavy with midfielders," said Davenport. "There are others higher up in the pecking order. I can't guarantee Kizza a game with the system we're playing. "It's up to him now; if he plays well on loan he may get a chance at York. But if he comes back firing on all cylinders in four weeks, then great."
