Time to decide for Kernaghan - July 26, 2000

Former Republic of Ireland defender Alan Kernaghan has been told by St. Johnstone boss Sandy Clark that he has to make up his mind as to whether he wants to stay at the club within the next couple of days.

The club have offered Kernaghan a one-year deal after he proved his fitness in pre-season but the defender is stalling on accepting the offer. It is believed that the 30-year-old wants at least a two-year deal but St. Johnstone are not willing to table such a contract.

Kernaghan has been out for nearly a full season with recurring injury problems but it is widely known at the club that when he plays their results improve significantly.

Kernaghan will be probably forced into taking the offer because finding another club would be hard work.
