Kelham set for first start in three years - September 19, 2000

Preston North End's assistant manager, Kelham O'Hanlon, is set for his first start in over three years if David Lucas does not win his battle with injury before tonight's Worthington Cup game against Coventry at Deepdale.

The 38-year-old, who was capped for Ireland once back in 1997 against Israel, hasn't started a game since April 19, 1997, when he kept a clean sheet against Stockport in a 1-0 win.

Last week he had to come off the bench in the 85th minute, coincidentally against Stockport, when goalkeeper David Lucas injured his arm.

Preston are going through a mini goalkeeping crisis at the moment, with first choice Tepi Moilanen sidelined through injury. With Lucas struggling it could open the door for Kelham to get a start.

If he does play against Coventry he will be deputised by Tony McMillan, who is 21 years his junior at just 17!
