New Wolves deal for Andrews - December 12, 2000

Irish central defender Keith Andrews has had his contract at Wolves extended until the end of the 2003 season.

The 20-year-old Dubliner is starting to fulfil his potential and as a reward Wolves have decided to extend his contract. Andrews has only played a total of four minutes for Wolves in two substitute appearances last season but he has been an ever-present in their reserve side.

Wolves manager Colin Lee decided to loan out Andrews to Second Division strugglers Oxford United in a bid to get him match fit and he has impressed so much in his time at the Manor Ground that Oxford asked for the player for another month.

Lee said: "Keith has done well at Oxford and I hope a further spell on loan will help him continue his development."
