Waterford honours United star - December 20, 2000
Manchester United's rising star John O'Shea has been named the Waterford Sports Star for the month of November.
The most memorable month of the 18-year-old's career to date saw him play three games with United's first team AND win a call-up to train with the Irish senior international squad for the friendly against Finland.
'Josh' made his senior debut for United in the Worthington Cup against Watford and followed that up with starts against Derry City and Sunderland.
It's his second time to win the Waterford accolade - the first was back in 1998 when he and another local lad, Celtic's Jim Goodwin, were jointly honoured for their part in Ireland's u16 European Championship victory.
The award was accepted by O'Shea's parents, Jim and Mary, who said John was thrilled to be honoured again.
