Irish duo inspire Luton - February 14, 2001
Former Republic of Ireland international Joe Kinnear made it two wins out of two as manager of struggling Luton Town, as the Hatters scored an amazing 3-1 win at Notts County at Meadow Lane last night.
Their second away win in four days, following Saturday's win over Northampton, has given relegation-threatened Luton sight of safety - the six-point haul drawing them level with third-from-bottom Swansea, just four points behind Swindon Town, three places higher up again.
Kinnear was helped no end last night by Republic of Ireland underage international Liam George. George fired home his sixth goal of the season in the 55th minute to restore Luton's lead after County's Mark Stallard had equalised Emerson Boyce's first-half effort.
Andrew Fotiadis wrapped it up for Luton with a third goal in the 82nd minute.
