Harte to be left out again - December 5, 2000
Irish international full back Ian Harte looks likely to be 'rested' again tonight as Leeds take on Lazio in the Champions League.
The Drogheda man lost his place to £18 million signing Rio Ferdinand at the weekend as manager Dave O'Leary switched to a back three.
But, significantly, Harte didn't even get a shout when O'Leary reverted to a back four at half time, bringing on Jason Wilcox instead - and that is certain to prompt enquiries from other Premiership clubs about Harte's long-term future.
O'Leary said: "I left Ian out because he hasn't been playing up to his best for a few weeks and he'll be the first to admit it.
"But Ian will still figure in my plans for tonight, even though I have not decided on my starting eleven.
"Ian may benefit from a short rest because his ability is not in doubt. He enjoyed a phenomenal season last year and is one of the best players at the club."
