Harte gives O'Leary food for thought - January 3, 2001
Ian Harte's rest from first team football seems to have done the job as he looked back to his best in a reserve game against Liverpool last night.
Harte was getting steadily worse for Leeds' first team since the start of the season, forcing David O'Leary to drop him from the team. But as a dead-ball specialist he will always find his way back into the team if he is showing good form.
Harte and fellow Irishmen Damien Lynch and Alan Maybury were part of a very strong Leeds reserve side which also included Eirik Bakke, Danny Mills and the returning Nigel Martyn.
Maybury scored the opening goal of the game as Leeds went on to win 2-1 against a Liverpool side which included Ireland's Richie Partridge.
