Farm grab first win - October 10, 2000

Home Farm Fingal 3 Drogheda 2

Home Farm grabbed their first Eircom League division one win of the season at Whitehall last night in an incident-packed game which left Drogheda rooted firmly to the bottom.

Most of the action was condensed into an amazing opening five minutes and an equally dramatic ending.

It took Aaron Lynch just three minutes to put Home Farm ahead - but his goal was cancelled out less than a minute later when Farm defender Thomas McGauley put through his own net!

Graham Doyle restored Home Farm's lead three-quarter ways through the game and it looked as though that's how the game would end.

But Trevor Vaughan gave the Drogs a lifeline when he grabbed an equaliser in the 89th minute.

And Drogheda were still celebrating when, seconds later, Doyle notched his second of the night and Farm's third to snare all three points for the Dublin side.
