Will Holland miss his first Ipswich game - September 6, 2000

Since Matt Holland's £800,000 move to Ipswich from Bournemouth in 1997 he has been an ever present in the side - but he is at risk of missing his first match tonight as his club travel to Filbert Street to take on Leicester.

Matt has played 171 successive games in all competitions for George Burley's side. But an ankle injury forced him to withdraw from the Irish squad last week and he is still not fully over it.

Holland's amazing record takes in 141 league games, 7 FA Cup games, 15 League Cup games and seven others in competitions like the Anglo-Italian Cup.

Manager Burley will wait until the last minute to name his squad for the Leicester game in the hope that his captain can once more show his powers of recovery and declare himself fit for the game.
