Finn Harps manager Gavin Dykes is set for a cross-channel swoop to boost his squad.

Four English-based players have been recommended to Dykes, who hopes to complete the deal soon.

Dykes has released Brian McKenna and former Derry hero Pascal Vaudequin - and with Harps on the verge of announcing a new sponsorship deal, the manager at last has some cash to play with.

'I can't disclose the details yet but I hope to make an announcement soon,' said Dykes, who took over the Harps reigns from Charlie McGeever last season.

Harps reached the FAI Cup final in 1998 but had to struggle against relegation for much of last season.

Longford Town are another club close to signing a new sponsorship deal.
