Harps point not enough - January 27, 2001

Galway United 1 Finn Harps 1

Finn Harps battled hard to come away from Terryland with a point - but with UCD beating Kilkenny later, the Donegal side finished the weekend even worse than started it.

Harps started brightly and forced two corners - but Galway rallied to score first after just eleven minutes. It was a cracker from teenager Alan Murphy, who lashed the ball into the corner of the net after Ollie Keogh teed it up.

Harps could have equalised when Dom Tierney forced Dave Forde into a fine, fingertip save on 29 minutes - but it made no difference as, from the resultant corner, Shane Bradley arrived to force the ball home for his second goal in consecutive games.
