Bray nick point in Terryland - November 25, 2000

Galway United 2 Bray Wanderers 2

Eddie Gormley was Galway's nemesis as Bray Wanderers launched a smash-and-grab raid at Terryland Park.

The home side led 2-0 at half time and still looked to be cruising to victory right up until the last minute, when the former Saint popped up with his late, late equaliser.

New boy Stephen Grant got Galway off to a great start when he converted Colin Fortune's cross after seven minutes - his first goal since joining from Boston Bulldogs three weeks ago. And nine minutes later, Grant scored his second with a spectacular drive from the edge of the area.

The Tribesmen were well worth their lead and could have made it 3-0 two minutes later when Bobby Ryan hit the woodwork.

Enter Gormley. Within ten minutes of being introduced as a half-time sub, the midfielder pulled on back, blasting home a free kick from outside the box.

Bray smelled blood when Bobby Ryan was sent off for kicking Gormley in the 67th minute and Kieran O'Brien was denied an equaliser by the width of an upright.

But the Seasiders seemed to have lost their chance when O'Brien himself was sent off for a second yellow eight minutes from the end.

But Gormley had other ideas and, on the stroke of time, he rose to score a rare header from Philip Keogh's free kick.
