Longford can leapfrog Bohs - December 15, 2000
Galway United v Longford Town 19:45
Longford 'keeper Stephen O'Brien will take the field at Terryland tonight with the praise of Ireland's soccer writers ringing in his ears. O'Brien yesterday picked up the Eircom Player of the Month award for November - the first-ever Longford player to win the honour.
Longford missed the chance to record another first by going top of the Eircom League last week when they lost 3-0 to St. Pat's. And with Shels taking full advantage, that chance is gone at least for the time being.
But the Strokestown Road gang can at least leapfrog Bohemians into second place by taking all three points at Terryland. They'll have to do it without the injured Wesley Byrne and Stuart Holt though, while Keith O'Connor is a doubt.
Galway are chasing their first win in five outings. Tom Silke and Colin Fortune are available again, but Billy Clery is out.
