Virus hampering Evans form - November 16, 2000

Mickey Evans has been hit with a mystery virus which has left him feeling sick and dizzy at the end of matches and as of yet the club have not found out which virus he has.

Blood tests showed that the once-capped Irishman, who joined Bristol Rovers from West Brom earlier in the season, is suffering from a virus which is affecting his form on the pitch. In the games against Oxford United and Walsall he felt sick and dizzy at the end and felt lethargic throughout.

Physiotherapist Phil Kite said: "They show that Mickey has an unknown virus and we will now have secondary tests done.

"There are several types of virus that could be affecting him and we should know more in the next couple of days."

Manager Ian Holloway said: "Mickey has been training over the past couple of days, but it's how he feels afterwards that is the problem."
