Keely names strong Eircom squad- October 17, 2000 Shelbourne manager Dermot Keely will have a change of hat on November 1 when he manages an Eircom League selection to face the Irish League at Terryland Park. Keely has given himself every chance of being successful in the challenge match, as he had named a very strong squad to take part. Six of his own Shelbourne players make the squad but they are all there on merit. Steve Williams is the best goalkeeper in the Eircom League so his inclusion in no surprise and the same could be said for Richie Foran, Richie Baker, Pat Fenlon, James Keddy and Owen Heary. Bohemians supply four players to the squad and all four should figure at some time during the game. With the form that Glen Crowe is on he is a cert for a team place as are Kevin Hunt, Shaun Maher and Simon Webb. Squad: Steve Williams (Shelbourne), Seamus Kelly (St. Patrick's Athletic), Owen Heary (Shelbourne), Shaun Maher (Bohemians), Simon Webb (Bohemians), Peter Hutton (Derry City), Clive Delaney (UCD), Colm Tresson (Bray Wanderers), Richie Baker, Pat Fenlon and James Keddy (all Shelbourne), Brian Byrne and Derek Tracey (both Shamrock Rovers), Kevin Hunt (Bohemians), Richie Foran (Shelbourne), Glen Crowe (Bohemians), Eric Lavine (Galway United), Pat Morley (Cork City). |
