Draw made for League Cup quarters - October 11, 2000 The draw for the quarter-finals of the Eircom League Cup was made last night and it threw up some interesting ties. Four Dublin teams were in the hat and, predictably, two were drawn to play each other. UCD have the unenviable task of playing red-hot Bohemians but at least they got a home draw for the game. The clubs met earlier in the season at Belfield in a League match and Bohemians scraped a 1-0 win thanks to goal machine Glen Crowe. Crowe cannot keep up the form he is on at the moment for the whole season - or at least that is what UCD will be hoping. The two First Division teams left in the competition missed each other in the draw. Limerick will play Shamrock Rovers away while Waterford are handed a plum home tie against St. Patrick's Athletic. The fourth quarter-final sees Finn Harps travel to Longford for a game that looks hard to call. The games will take place on Tuesday, November 7, and the following day. If the teams cannot be separated after 90 minutes, extra time will be played and if things are still level the ties will go to penalties. |
