Eircom League set to name supremo - January 10, 2001
The FAI's board of management has given the green light to the Eircom League to appoint their long-awaited supremo. Delegates gave the go-ahead for the IR£60,000-a-year job of League Commissioner to be advertised.
The board also selected a panel to interview prospective candidates.
Referee's boss and former trade union chief Bill Attlee and club administrators Joe Colwell (Shamrock Rovers), Eddie Murray (Monaghan United) and Brendan Dillon (UCD) will fill four of the positions on the panel.
They will be joined by an as yet unnamed fifth panellist from outside the world of football.
