Shelbourne are quickly becoming the moneybags of the Eircom League. With the revenue that their Champions League run will generate and a just-announced £250,000 government for ground improvements at Tolka Park, things could not be sweeter in Dublin 3.

Shamrock Rovers were the biggest winners in the cash windfall. They have been granted £500,000 for their new stadium development in Tallaght. The cash should hasten the building of the new stadium and with any luck Rovers will have their own home before the end of the season.

The final recipients of the handouts are Bohemians. They will receive £150,000 towards the ongoing development of Dalymount Park. The old Dublin stadium is moving with the times.

Bohs have recently opened a 3,000-seater stand and the money allocated will go towards replacing the remaining terracing with seats.
